    Lost Vista Password

    If you cannot log on to your system because you forgot your Windows password and you have Vista Home Premium or Home Basic, you cannot recover your password.
    The administrator login on the two versions of windows is not available even booting to safe mode.

    You might be able to use a third-party program to crack it but that would not be officially supported.

    You are correct. However you cannot create the password reset disk AFTER you forget your password.

    Nope, that would be too late. Alternately, you could install a version of Vista "higher" than Home Premium and regain the functionality of the administrator account.

    Try to download somewhere the HirenBoot CD & load it as the PC start. It has few software to reset or change passwords which I think now compatibile with Vista.
