I'm looking at the Vaio FW with the 512mb card, 2.53ghz processor, 4gb of RAM, and the 1900x1200 screen.

Can anyone advise on how well full-screen MKVs and Team Fortress 2 perform? Those are about as extreme as I plan to push the machine.

The ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4650 in the VAIO FW will be able to handle full-screen MKVs and TF2 at high at native resolution with very playable framerates.

Does it have to be the 1gig card or will the 512 suffice?

What about regular HL2, is that playable on the 512? I operate on the XKCD gaming model, playing 5-year old games on brand spanking new hardware... lol.

Memory doesn't really make a difference. Stick with the 512.
