I would call customer support and tell them the problem. They will probably be able to fix it

Probably a bad video card or loose cable between the video card and display.
Hook up an external monitor and see if the problem goes away. -
How old is the notebook? Did you drop it by any chance before this happened?
-
thanks for the replies, i dont think it was dropped, i know the moddle came out in 2005 so cant be older than 2 years, will try external monitor
also when i change reslutions it can be 8 smaller screens, shall i open it up and see if grapihc card is loose, it says ATI IGP 345M -cant find drivers for it on ATI site, if i open it up will i find it or is it onboard or something like that -
when i connect to external monitor it fits the whole screen on any resolution on my 19" LCD 5:4
but the text is slightly blured and "auto adjust" doest fix it like it normal does -
Bad resolution to the screen. Notebooks are ussualy set up so that the LCD always receives the native resolution. Example: if you have a 1280 * 800 screen and set the resolution to 640 * 480 the graphics card scales automatically and send 1280 * 800 anyways, even in the Bios. For this, it should read out an EEPROM on the screen. My idea: damaged or corrupted EEPROM. Suggestion: set it to the native resolution in Windows. Boot might still be garbled but Windows might be ok.
-
i just realised the native resolution cant be selected, the max i can set is is 1400x1050, closest to native i can select is 1280x768
-
Since the bios resolution is determined and set by the bios and not influenced by anything else, such as the OS, the problem is hardware related and most likely the screen.
-
Try powerstrip to force the right timing.

Try to use powerstrip or something to force the correct resolution. May very well fix it for you.
Also: what about drivers? What have you tried already?
MY SCREEN IS SPLIT INTO 4, EVEN BIOS, PICs inside
