I just ordered my Sony S270 on sonystyle.com.

Since I customized my S270, I was wondering if they built the S270 in the US or Japan? I really hope it is in Japan.......

I have never heard of any Sony product being made in the USA, I'm sure it's Japan.

My Sony V505 is made in the US, with power adapter from China, and battery from Japan.

Pre-built models and early models in the series are usually made in Japan, S150 for example. Customized ones like S170 or S270 would be made in USA because it is assembled here.
