I am considering purchasing FZ4000 CTO. I want to dual boot XP and Vista. I found this link ftp://ftp.vaio-link.com/PUB/OS/XPDOWNGRADE where they have some drivers for FZ notebooks.

Has anyone managed to get FZ fully functional under XP using that link or any other link? What is your experience? Anything that I should be aware of?

You will get everything working except Fn buttons and power management!

Thanks. Is it possible to make FN and Power Management working by installing the drivers from another model (such as AR or SZ)? I know the installation program would check the model number first and if it doesn't match, it won't install but a 3rd party extractor such as Universal Extractor would bypass the model checker.

unfortunately till now no one has been able to get this to work :(
On the other hand windows Vista got much better with service
pack1. For me its now almost perfect and no more need to use
xp. My advice would be to make a dual boot vista and xp and use
xp only where you can't use vista! (if any such case! )
