I have a VAIO laptop with 945 chipset. IRQs are automatically assigned. There are 5 things on IRQ 16 including firewire, USB host controller, PCMCIA...I need to assign the firewire to a different IRQ, but need to get past the automatic assignment of IRQs. There are IRQs available. Does anybody know how I can manually assign an IRQ to a system that wants to automatically assign IRQs? I simply need to change the IRQ of the firewire from IRQ 16, which has four other things. Please advise.
