    Hello everyone,

im currently having trouble getting the picture to fit to my tv screen properly through a hdmi cable.

ive had this problem before but was able to fix it quickly using the settings in sony's 'HDMI Resolution Settings' software.

VAIO User Guide | Changing the Resolution (Size) of the Screen Image on an HDMI-Connected Device

    the software explained in that.
the problem is, it doesnt want to pop up in my notification centre when i connect my laptop and tv.

anyone have any idea how i can manually open the 'HDMI Resolution Settings'?

    Thanks in advance

What model laptop do you have?

You should look for a setting in the video control panel called "overscan". this lets you fine tune the size to fit your display.
Also some laptops have a problem displaying the correct resolution when running internal and external screens at the same time. try looking for a function key setting to toggle off the laptop display. ie: Fn+F7.

Or you can set up the TV independently by choosing extended desktop settings (instead of clone mode where both screens show the same thing). The display settings (right click desktop and select 'screen resolution, then dig deeper) will show the various options available.

TVs are limited in the refresh rates and resolutions that they can support. Try changing the refresh rate of your laptop.
