    When I am using the computer in bed while the wife is asleep I find it impossible to find the Fn+ F3 or F4 key to turn volume -/+. It would be much easier if i could simply map the S1 buttom to Volume - annd the S2 buttom to Volume +.

    Using S1 to toggle Mute on and off is convenient, but using it to turn down the volume would be much better.

    Has anyone figured this out? I see several ways to do it, but havent gotton anywhere yet.

    1. If you can toggle the volume from the command line via an application then you could use that application in the Sony S Buttom application. For example. {C:\program files\volume -down}

    2. Sony's drivers are responsible for intercepting the S1/S2 buttoms and triggering the appropriate mapping file. If the drivers settings (mappings) could be found we could maybe change that .ini file or registry settings.

    Thoughts?

    Sorry, but couldn't you just navigate to volume control in the taskbar and control volume manually?

    The only other alternative would be to set one button to access volume control.

    numbtius - very insightful, your such a help.

    For the rest of you who are interested, here is a little progress. A work around would be to invoke the volume control which the s2 key is hit. here is the command.
    > sndvol32.exe /t or in the S Buttom Application:

    Application> C:\WINDOWS\system32\sndvol32.exe
    Option: /t

    Rather than use the up arrow and down arrow, you can use the page up and page down for faster volume adjustment. Clicking back into the app you are in will make the volume slider control go away.

    Rob, that's great work. I appreciate you putting in this work and sharing with the community.

    Do you think you can also find the right command line for brightness? those are the two function keys (volume and brightness) I'm always fumbling with in the dark. Thanks!
