Sorry if a double post, but I've been reluctant to upgrade my SZ120p to Vista. Have all the problems like drivers and stuff been worked out. Did sony make changes to bundled software? Do they still work in the first place?
What are the common downsides from XP. And I am really concerned about battery life. Was it that noticable? THanks you guys, this will help me a lot in my decision.

Sony only officially supports it Sz4X with Vista, so if I were you, I'd not upgrade. Also, if it isn't broken, don't fix it. XP isn't broken, so sticking with it is your best option

Hmmm...that's odd because they've posted drivers for SZ330P/B specifically to upgrade for Vista. Also many people have been able to get their SZ1 and SZ2 series working fine.

Paul, check out the thread linked in my signature...give you an idea of what is involved.

As long as it's listed under Sony's Express Upgrade, I don't see why the product wouldn't be supported.

    SZ340P series is covered, :)

I upgraded to vista. But now I don't suggest you to upgrade. After upgrade you can't go back to xp without another clean install. I am considering to go back to xp.

    My problem:
    1. a software in my work can't support vista
    2. ipod video need driver in vista
    3. My old web camera can't support vista, logitech will not release a vista driver for this. The one in my sz is very bad.
    4. Your need a lot time and computer acknowledge to avoid other issues.

vista is not compatible with xp, so not sure other softwares can work on it.

^Vista does have emulation capabilities. Just that it's not really stable. Sometimes it works, sometimes it won't.

I don't know how exactly to get there, but it does give you the option to emulate Win2K, XP, ME, 98, etc.

Thanks you guyz. It really helped. i guess i'm just gonna wait it out even longer to see things through. Good things come to those who wait right? I guess vista just looks cool for now. I'll wait until I have to have it, or if i feel i'm too left behind. And plus I also have a Mac so i have experienced all of this already in a way. Only if Sony granded my wish and made vaio's with osx.

Sony has drivers listed for the SZ120p as well. I do have some driver issues, but it runs quite well overall. I was worried about performance, but it seems snappier than XP did.
