I would like to upgrade my memory currently it has 2-512MB PC2-4200. Check some websites and says that I can install the PC2-5300 version! My questions are:

Do I have to install same capacity ram on both slots? Or can I just replace 1gb ram on one slot and have the original 512MB on the other? Or do I have to take the 512MB off the other slot leaving just 1GB upgrade on one slot?

If so anyone who already upgraded theirs, where's the good place to find get the ram?

    Thanks in advance,
    Xman

To use the dual-channel function, you need to have the same size sticks in both slots....although it is debateable whether dual-channel even makes a noticeable difference. The difference between PC2-4200 and 5300 are almost negligible as well. If there is a price difference, go with the 4200.

Personally I went with two sticks of OCZ. Mushkin and Crucial are two other brands I would buy. Not a big fan of Kingston, Corsair, Patriot.
