    Hello,

I may actually be ready to buy that unit next week. I saw many threads about memory upgrades on the SZ series. I want to make sure I have the right selection. I typically get Kingston memory which is listed as 266MHz DDR2-533/PC2-4200 - is that the fasted memory I can/should put in this laptop?

    Thanks

    You can buy either DDR2 533Mhz PC2-4200 or 667MHz PC2-5300 but be sure it's 200-pin !!!

Very easy. Pages 144-150 of the Sony SZ100 series VAIO User Guide explain in step-by-step fashion exactly how to do it.

I've installed 2GB in my Vaio SZ140P and it was a piece o' cake. Just a quick unscrew the trapdoor on the bottom of the unit, and slip it in. Takes about 2 minutes. Just make sure to get rid of any static before you touch anything to be safe.
