I can't say for sure it will work, but yes, it should work!

But you can get it cheaper at newegg.com (and I'm sure cheaper elsewhere, but I know newegg is as reliable as amazon).

Just to let you know, getting two 512mb sticks instead of a single 1gb stick will give you slightly better performance (about 6% faster for memory).

And the link to newegg is:

So long as you get 200pin, DDR2, SO-Dimm, PC3200 or PC4200 it SHOULD work! But as in life, nothing is guaranteed. But I'd say with 95% confidence it will work. I think Kingston, Crucial, or Newegg's Kingmax are good brands.

I ordered two Kingston PC4200 512mb from newegg. They weren't the models listed at the Kingston site for the s460. But they still work perfectly fine. And even Sony told me to use only PC3200. But they are wrong. PC4200 does not help much, just about 1% improvement. But if it's cheaper or the same price, I'd get it.

And like I said, two identical sticks are about 6% faster than a single stick, or mixing two different sticks.

The think that confuses me is the Mhz number: PC3200 and PC2-4200. They're both different number, but both work in the S460B? Why dont Sony just set the motherboard to accep PC-4200?

My thought is that Mhz numbe ris important and can't be mixed-and-match with the motherboard specs.
