Hey i have a Sony vaio VGN-FS195VP laptop and was wondering if "Samsung 512MB SODIMM DDR 200pin PC2700" memory would work? have 512 mb original memory right now.

start by identifying the installed ram, which manufacturer and how many modules.
next check how many memory slots you have and how many are populated.

for example if only two slots ans both are populated by 2x256mb then that samsung sodimm is of little use, should go for a 2x512 or 1x1024 or...

maybe sony owners will give better answers.
get a free diagnostic program like this one and post more details

    hope this helps

I have 2 memory slots, with one 512 module so there is a place left for another 512 module. The manufactor of the one installed is Hyundai.

so basically if you cant get same exact module try getting one with exact same specifications, if the hyundai is 512MB SODIMM DDR 200pin PC2700 then the samsung should be good. check what is the max ram on your notebook and how much is the price for a 1gb module.

It's exactly the same spec on the samsung memory as the Hyundai. Max is
1gb so another 512 module should be fine.Thx for the help :)
