I just installed XP Pro SP 3 and everything works fine except the memorystick, no yellow exclamation marks in device manager. The driver provided on Sony's support site fails to install properly. It says "Texas Instruments (ti21sony) MTD failed to install". I had this memorystick slot working before as I was switching the memory stick from a Sony digital camera to this laptop and it showed up right way as the memorystick was inserted. I did change a couple things since then. I did open up the laptop and upgraded the CPU from T2370 to T7500 and I upgraded the memory from 1Gb PC2-5300to 2Gb PC2-6400 but I never touched the part near that memory slot. It's a VGN-NR310E.

The memoryslot used to work even after the upgrades just fine. I just can't find the right driver for it. I greatly appreciate your help!

I ran "services.msc" and I found a couple services needed for this process were disabled and stopped. Memorystick Pro started working again just like before, driver is good. Nothing wrong with it. It's a Sony!
