I think i have messed up buying the new Sony Z116 as it doesn't have enough disk space. It comes with 128 but I have used 95 GB already.
Is it possible to change the Hard Drive to say a 256 GB the same as they have in the Z117????
I really wanted the 117 but either Sony stopped making it or the stopped shipping it to Asia as you cannot get one anywhere

You cannot change the SSD that's inside the Sony Z. It's not your standard SSD. Unfortunately, there is no alternative.

You could however swap the DVD drive out and put in a hard drive however it should only be attempted by an experienced do-er of such things.

This will sound obvious, but why don't you buy an external drive to dump non-essential items, it will be 241231231232x cheaper.

Because it's inconvenient. I'm in the same situation and I'm going to go the replace the dvd with a hd route. I'm just waiting for them to finish the faceplate.

I just come off the phone with Sony Shop in Singapore and they say they will have the new Z128 and 129 next week so I have asked them to keep them for me and I will make my mind up in the next 10 days which one i want.
They say the only difference is the Blue-Ray drive in the 129 and that is an extra US$500 bucks.....................is it worth it???

If you own a lot of Blu ray discs but for some reason think that a 13" screen is where you will get value out of them, then yes you should forward and extra $500 bucks to Sony. :)

take a look at the thread where somebody changed his DVD with a HDD. This might be the cheapest way.

You can also get a 32 GB SD card and/or 32 GB Memory Stick, but I suppose that's not a lot.
