I encountered a really weird problem starting about a week ago on my VPC-Z116GX (started the day after I bought it). On bootup, randomly, the wireless adapter would go missing. It would be gone from the device manager and no trace of it could be found. Usuallly, however, a simple restart would bring it back. I kept at this for a week until yesterday the adapter didn't appear after 3 restarts. A call to Sony led me to reformat my computer and reinstall/reupload all my files and data. I thought my problem was over.

Then this morning, to my surprise, on bootup the adapter was missing again. I restarted it and am now typing this. So my question is, is this a hardware issue or is one of my programs causing this? Or is this a known problem with a solution?

FYI, I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling the adapter drivers.

UPDATE: Talked to another Sony rep, had me boot into safe mode and the adapter was still missing. Definitely a hardware problem, they're sending a technician out.

Sounds like a hardware issue most likely, so you'd better have it fixed asap while you still can.
