    Hi!

I have been having a hard time finding any information regarding upgrading the default drive on my VGN-Z690 to a Seagate Momentus XT 750GB hybrid drive.

The Momentus is rated at 6GB/s, whilst my current drive is 3GB/s. I know that the Seagate is backwards compatible with motherboards which are limited to 3GB/s, but my question is..

Is my motherboard capable of the 6GB/s rate, or the 3GB/s? I found that it is surprisingly hard to find this out (queue easily googled contradictory result). Anyone know?

Another thing I had a hard time figuring out: if I am limited to 3GB/s, how will this affect the performance of the drive? I have not been able to find any benchmarks comparing the 6GB/s to the 3GB/s.

    Cheers
