DROOL... I can't wait until I get mine!!! Thanks for the pictures - it is so much better to get REAL WORLD pics instead of the terrible "processed" pictures that Sony provides us with! By the way, nice magic trick with the floating penny... ;)

I've got a question, can you manage to take a photo or comment on the evenness of the screen lighting? On my S5 Series the screen gets quite a bit darker around the corners and on the left and right side. It's only really to be seen on a white background though but does sometimes annoy me. How does the LED Screen on the SZ160 compare to this?

Also, how wobbly is the screen? I've heard that the support on the screen for the SZ160 is pretty weak.

With the carbon fibre casing it is solid as a rock. The lighting is even from edge to edge and it is crisp and clear. I have some minor light leakage at the bottom but it is nothing major. Simply said, its the best screen on a notebook I've ever owned. There are better screens out there but this thing is fantastic.

They had one Sz160 left at CompUSA and about four SZ120's. The salesman was so hard sell I decided to wait. He talked like the 160's would be rare as gold forever once his last one was sold, besides trying to talk me into the additional warranties. Anyway I may call and check later if I decide to buy one.

You can adjust fan speed by going into VAIO Power Management.

Wow Sony really lets you customize what to switch on/off in battery mode! Pretty incredible you can even switch off the Audio and LAN!

The power management system for the SZ looks much more detailed than what I have in my VAIO FS.

I saw a sz160 at a Sony Style store, and the left and right sides of the screen still had the characteristic ellipses of darkness and, as well, there was a faint - but visible - brownish grunge throughout the screen. Two of the Sony salespeople checked it out, and saw the exact same thing. They had no explanation - I had observed the same thing on sz110 models on display elsewhere. My first impression of the 160, however, was that the screen was brighter and sharper...but with the problems described above. I suspect, as with the earlier S series, it is just something you have to live with. And for $2500 I have a problem with that...
