Hey guys, I just bought a z11 and have a couple of questions.
I got the 128Gb SSD, so i was thinking of alternative ways to add a little more space on my laptop. I have a 500GB external already, but i was thinking a more portable solution. I noticed Sandisk has a 64GB SD card available for $214 on Amazon. Do you think it'd be worth it to just buy that card and throw it in the SD slot for use full-time?

Second question is for external speakers. I was wondering what i'd need to allow the z11 to hook up to 5.1 speakers. There's only 1 headphone jack on the computer, so maybe the HDMI would be the way to go? could i buy a usb sound card? Thanks!

Seems pretty expensive for 64GB, but it really depends on you.

I believe there are expresscard soundcards, like Creative's X-Fi. I don't know if it's possible to get 5.1 output from that card though.

Or why not to use a PCI express card SSD (64GB are around 199 too and I think it can be left in the express card slot, SD card is not...)

i don't want to do a dvd swap because it would require me.. to remove my dvd slot.
what is a pci express card? I've never heard of it before, would you mind giving me the 101? :D

You got a express card 34mm slot on the left side of the Z (between two USB slots)
I do not have a reference to recommend in term of express card SSD, but I think there's some threads about it (try this one for exemple) or just google it.

It seems that these card can be hot under intensive use, but I assume it would be more like an extra storage for you am I wrong ?
    Anyway, just have a look.

You need a breakout box to get 5.1 from the Creative X-Fi. But don't get it, it sucks compared to the internal sound processor in the Z, as it resamples all sound. It doesn't even have the X-Fi DSP, but uses your CPU.

Since if you have a 5.1 system, it's going to be stationary, get an external USB or, better, Firewire (if you have a model with Firewire, of course) sound solution. Unlike an expresscard, this can also be plugged into a docking station, so it automatically plugs/unplugs when used stationary.
