Microsoft has set up a system to release Windows Vista RC1 product keys to the public. You will need a Microsoft Live Login (formerly Microsoft Passport) to get it. Thanks shola & dash69.

Nice find. I was getting a bit frustrated continually going back to the download page just find that registration was still closed.

Thank you. I am interested to here feedback on how important Core 2 Duo is and what first impressions are of Vista. You know, it won't be long now that Intel will be announcing backpacks for Core 3 Duo folks

Seems MS is handing out 2 key per email account max.
Just got 2 keys sent to my personal email & 2 more keys sent to my work email.
Each key is good for 10 activation or 10 PC installiations, not sure which?
Any ways, I'm covered for at least 40 activations, so I can install & re-install untill I get it working to my liking. -
Meh. Installed it on my desktop and so far not really impressed. What a resource hog! It uses up about 78% of my 1GB of RAM just sitting idle. Only played with it for about 2 hours but so far it pretty much just seems like lipstick on the same old pig. Hope this isn't a good approximation of the final release. Otherwise I'll just continue to use XP on my notebook until the EOL it and give the Vista partition back to the Linux install on my desktop.
