Hello, I will try to explain this as fast as possible.
A month ago, I bought a computer from eBay. I have a great desktop PC (built by scratch by a friend) for video-editing, as this is my current job.
I, however, travel a bit and I often do quick teasers from my travels which I upload to social media, and I needed a laptop to carry with me when I travel abroad (5 times a year) and also to just watch Netflix in bed. I didnt want to pay alot so I found this Vaio on eBay for a reasonable price.
The computer has a 256GB SSD with an i7 processor and dual graphics card, it works well editing these short 30 sec videos, but I have massive problems with other stuff.
The computer gets very, very, very warm and sounds like a chainsaw when i just using GOOGLE CHROME watching YOUTUBE!? It says that no process is using a lot of the CPU, but it still gets very varm. I have tried to open the computer to look for dust, but nothing.
Also, when I watch YouTube, Netflix, Viaplay (streaming-website in sweden) the sound is perfectly matched to the video at first, but the longer the video gets, the sound and video is being unsynced and i have to refresh the website to make it work properly again (for like 3 minutes...)
The computer works great other than that and the previous owner is a german company who claims that the previous owner did not have any problems with it.
The computer was factory restored when I got it and I think i might be missing some drivers? I can't seem to find how to update the BIOS on this computer though, as my model is not shown on the Sony website. I do not know what to do, the fan sounds when I start the computer, I don't expect it to be 100% quiet but not sound like a god damn chainsaw-factory.
Specs:
Sony Vaio VPCSB38GG 13'3''
Intel HM65 Express
Intel Core i7 2640M / 2.8 GHz
8 GB DDR3 RAM
256 GB SAMSUNG SSD
AMD Radeon HD 6470M // Intel HD Graphics 3000
Please try to help me with this, I can't be bothered sending it back as I think the computer is light, small and has good specs for me.
What can I do?
Thanks.

Have a look through the SB owners thread found here. Maybe it will help:

also what version of windows are you on? 7? 8? 10? -
Also try check CPU temperatures with HWMonitor. ~75C or higher with light use would not be good.
Download VAIO update from the Sony website for drivers. -

Not all models are for all countries, so you need to choose the right country where your laptop was purchased. Or Google.
Check the air being pushed out of the vent on the side. It should be hot, and you should be able to feel it on your hand from 4" away. If this is not happening, you need to do some maintenance.
1. You can't feel the air exhaust 4" away. Clean the air passages.
2. You can feel the air from the vent 4" away, but it is not hot. Change the thermal paste/ grease between the CPU and the heatsink. -

This laptop is made in 2011, so it's 6 years old now. It's probably very dusty inside and the thermal paste is not working properly, hence the heat and the constant, loud fan noise. I have a VPCSA, and it's doing similar things now. I have to open it and clean/repaste it; maybe you'd want to consider that.
Multiple problems with Sony Vaio Laptop (Overheat, fan sound, sound & video delay)
