A whirlwind tour but I hope it's helpful for people considering getting this convertible tablet.

Handwriting test:
With just a little practice I think I could get zero typos. Even with my awful cursive handwriting it's extremely accurate. And palm rejection (not taking touch input from your hand when you're using the pen) is flawless. That tray I'm using can be used as an on-screen keyboard in any program.Last edited by a moderator: May 12, 2015 -
Excellent, thanks for the videos
Handwriting recognition is pretty good, I couln't read your text, but Windows did haha -
How thick is it compared to the MacBook Pro?

Thank you for the video Mitlov. Beautiful machine!
I will be ordering it in the next week. Do you have touch screen being unresponsive problem like some fellow members are reporting in the owner lounge? That's the only thing holding me back from ordering... -
@Maven--I took the pic; I'll try to post it tonight. It IS thinner than an MBP 15; it just doesn't look that way at first glance because the MBP's tapered edges (top edge and bottom) make it appear thinner than it is. Equally importantly, it's about half the weight of an MBP 15.

Windows Experience Index scores aren't bad for a base model with a ULV i3
Processor: 6.3
Memory: 5.9
Graphics: 5.5
Gaming graphics: 6.4
Primary hard disk: 8.1
Base score: 5.5 -

1. Why do you think the memory score is so low? What kind of memory does it use?
2. Hard drive score of 8.1!!! Did Windows recently calibrate WEI scores to be over 7.9? What is the new maximum?
3. The other scores - cpu, graphics, seem awfully low for an IB cpu w/HD4000 IGP. Is this too the result of a re-calibration of the WEI?
Overall, it makes the WEI even less useful, if such a thing was possible!
Did you by any chance run other benchmarks on your Duo 11?
Given that the Z2 with SB and with HD3000 scores higher in every category except the storage (!!), again, does this mean the WEI scores are not at all comparable?
Thanks for putting all this effort into it. -
I dunno, it substantially outperformed a Samsung Ativ Smart PC Pro (ULV i5) that was also benchmarked by a guy over at tabletPCreview. When you say the numbers are awfully low for Ivy Bridge, are you comparing to other ULV Ivy Bridge, or full-voltage chips?
I also ran wPrime:
1024M: 958.831 seconds
32M: 30.328 seconds
Don't know the details of what sort of memory it uses. I don't actually understand any of this benchmarking stuff; I just ran it because a guy over at tabletPCreview asked me to. -

1. He automatically got a 5.9 Rating for RAM because he has 4 GB. He can probably bringing it up to 7 by just swapping the 2 GB module for a 4 GB unit to make it 6 GB total.
2. Windows 8's maximum score is 9.9.
3. The Duo 11 uses an ultra low voltage processor, in this case, a 1.8 GHz Core i3 that doesn't support TurboBoost so it's locked at 1.8 GHz. Ivy Bridge didn't really add much more performance over Sandy Bridge clock for clock, so it's not surprising it would lose to a standard mobile Core i3/i5 processor. The HD 4000 IGP in these are slightly downclocked as well. -

Thanks for the clarification. Does W8 perform that much better (SSDs) or is it just a different grading scale when W8 is present? Wouldn't put it past MS to raise the score just to make W8 more attractive! -
