I apologize in advance, but this is just crap.

I've had my F11 for about a year now. The only conclusion I can make is that it's just crap engineering. The damn thing is louder than any other i7 laptop I have ever heard. A lot louder, like double.

And then I run laptop screen + external HD screen. Fan noise doubles.

It wouldn't be so bad if it were low pitched, like a desktop fan. But it is loud and whiney high pitched. I tried to do a webinar the other day, and (despite noise cancelling mic/headset) people were complaining about that whining noise.

    Fed up...

Sorry to hear about your laptop. Have you tried opening the bottom and using a dust cleaner to clean out the fan? That did the trick for my G51. I swear the damn thing performed like it was new after I did that.

Still, I'm willing to bet that your F series laptop is NOWHERE in comparison to the crap us (Asus) G51 series users have to deal with. You can hear my laptop coming from a mile away.

I agree Baron. I returned my F1 because I couldn't stand the fan noise. Even when surfing the net and no other windows open, this fan was spinning and whining like I was renderring in auto-cad or something. No thanks...
