I'm generally happy with my FE880, except that:
1) sometimes when browsing the net, it goes back to the page last visited (like pressing backspace or back icon in the browser);
2) the screen blacks out.
Anyone knows how to correct these problems?

The screen blacking out is your power savings mode which is set to turn the screen off.....You will need to change it so the screen doesn't shut off after X minutes.

Thanks for the reply. Sorry I was not too clear. The screen blacks out momentarily, sort of like a power surge, and then comes back on immediately.

What browser are you using?
My 790 does a similar thing only with IE.
If you have not done so, I suggest Mozilla FF2. -
Maybe it's a spyware/virus infection. Do a scan for both of them.
The button that turns on/off your LCD screen when you push the screen shut might be faulty?
OR
Something is loose between the graphics/screen or something inside.:rolleyes2:
Since you say it has a mind of it's own.....maybe it is possessed?

ok , here is the answer to your " mind of its own FE880" when you are browsing the web, and you want to scroll down a page, the right section of your touch pad can be used as a scroll wheel basically, the same goes for the top section.... it is used as a back or forward shortcut... so for example... if you want to go back.... you put your finger in the upper right of your touchpad, and move it to the upper left... and bang... you go back... just switch these steps to go forward!!!
it doesnt have a mind of its own... your telling it to do this...lol you just didnt know that!!

1 ) Either way your keyboard might be faulty (doing things on it's own - this can cause both of these problems but the possibility is not high)
Also I have experience things like that with Firefox.Upgrade it to the Lastest Non-beta (Stable) release.
2 ) This can be either a Driver problem,ACPI power managment problem or a program interfering. As a last problem. The laptop might be faulty.
My FE880 has a mind of its own!
