I ordered a FZ290 CTO on the 8th and today got an email from Sony indicating it should ship on the 19th. I'm concerned with all the negative posts concerning the "off-color" screen with the HiColor option...which I'm getting. Also, the model is discontinued now and replaced with a version that has been "improved". Whatever that means. If anyone can offer any first-hand experience and put my fears to rest I sure would appreciate it.

I have an FZ290 that was built in November. It has the HiColor and the
8400M GT and I could not be more pleased.

    Thanks,

That's exactly what I want to hear. (I've been spending too much time in this forum. Every computer brand has its plus/minus.) FYI, I'm reading up on how to optimize performance and what software to use for virus protection and such. I plan to be ready when the computer arrives.
