After I bought my Sony Vaio, now my mom wants a laptop. She really likes my notebook, but she said that she doesn't need the gigantic screen I have. I know that Sonys are usually expensive, but does anyone know of a well-build, affordable Sony laptop?
Thanks

The K series is pretty cheap and well made.

Does she only want a Sony? She could find very great laptops from other companies. If she wants a Sony, try the S series.

I'll second S series if she founds the 15.4" screen in FS to be gigantic. There should be good discounts on some of the older models.

S series are 'not anymore affordable than fs series' How about cute-design TR series? She'll love it for sure.

perfect laptop for your mom I think would be T series, sleek and sexy
If it's too expensive, get some S series: s270/ s360/ s380 put P after these if need more performance. Try ebay.. I saw some good deal there. I actually sold my s270p last time about 1300ish with BPL9 battery.. 2ghz 1gb 9700 64mb hiks.. and now, w3v.

OK guys, thanks for your input. I'll tell Mom about these! -
The T series may be a bit too small for her to use, but maybe she'll like the portability and weight of it.

She isn't a businesswoman, but my little brother and I play travel ice hockey, so when we are away from home, my mom likes to check her emails, surf the internet, etc. My dad has a laptop for work (Toshiba), and it's very slim and lightweight, but it has a really small screen. I'm not sure what size it is, but my mom wants the size to be between that and 15.4"!
My Mommy wants a laptop now.
