My SZ90 only lasted for a few days. I tried to upgrade the BIOS and although the utility said everything was ok the machine will not turn on again, no lights - nothing. On earlier VAIO models there where some reports on BIOS update and 2nd RAM installed causing problems but I do not know if that applies here.

And now I got it back from repair, they had to change the motherboard. It is good that geekstuff4u.com has a generous 3 year warranty. I notice that the computer now use 1W more power on ultimate setting (8.5W vs. 7.5W) than the first motherboard. Do not know if it is because of the new bios or just production tolerances.

The Jap SZ90s (and others I presume) come standard with 3 years. Its the US models that come with only 1 year.
