I have a VAIO VGN C25G, I've been using it for one and half year, I cannot remember since when I noticed that white color looks very yellow(very obvious) compared to other laptops, I just want to confirm several things:
1. Is it bad/good for eyes?
2. Can it be repared?
3. If it cannot be repaired, is it possible to change a screen at Sony service center? How much does it cost?
4. I'm at Melbourne, Australia, where is Sony's service center?
Thanks a lot!!!

Let me try to answer some of your questions:
1. Whats the difference between a yellow or a white pixel? Its as good or as bad for your eyes as a normal screen.
(Flat screens don't emit anything as far as I'm aware, in contrast to the old cathode ray tubes)
2. I'm pretty sure it can be repaired, here the possebilities:
- wrong screen settings (Gamma curve and all that stuff)
- GPU problem - doubt it
- screen damaged -> screen needs replacing
- connection bad/loose
3. Screen costs, I haven't got a clue. Try Ebay for an idea of new screen prices and then consider that Sony may charge a bit more for repairs.
(Funny thing, on a Medion laptop I drenched the keyboard in coffee, new keyboard would be around 100€, a repair by Medion also...I now use an external keyboard when I use it at all)
4. You're writing in this forum, aren't you? Try the Sony website. If that doesn't help, get their customer support personel, they'll be able to tell you.
(My battery on my SZ failed after 2 weeks, I went to Collogne in Germany to have it changed rather than wait for the mail to collect/deliver, got the adresses of Sony's customer service) -
1.YES
2.yes it can be repaired
3.yes possible. If youre in warranty it is free but in US it will cost you $699.99 for OW lcd repair
4.You need to contact your nearest local Sony service center in Australia phone number 61-2 98789712
My VAIO screen is yellow(but not dark) what can I do?
