It's a Vaio VPCEB2M0E
It sounds like a screeching/crackling/rattling
I just noticed it today, about 3-4 months after I bought it. It's actually pretty loud and really annoying, but even thought I could just "put up with it" as I'd no likely be told by most people, my friend has a Sony Vaio with the exact same issues, and his failed eventually. Should I contact Sony now or will I need to wait for it to fail?
I checked the temps and they're all fine. Also, it does it while I'm not accessing the HDD heavily, but I just copied a 600MB from one partition to another and it stopped![]()

It's a Seagate Momentus (ST9320325AS)
I have also noticed a rattling sound when moving my laptop, don't know if that means anything related as well? -
