    Hi,

I had my sony vaio Z repaird by sony few days ago. The internal LCD was faulty so they've replaced it.
And now I cannot get my GT 330M working with the internal LCD... it's does work well when I plug an external monitor.
I thought at first it was because I had often used an external monitor and the display was set to external only even if there's not.
But once I'm using my external monitor, windows display properties cannot even find my Sony LCD.
I've tried nvidia driver 270.61 and the official sony's nvidia driver.
I've used Driver Sweeper 3, I've reinstalled my system that didn't make any changes...

Maybe through the repair process sony's technicians has forgotten to connect my GT 330M to the new LCD. However, when loading bios with the GT 330M on ( graphic switching policy = static ) it still display the VAIO logo very well, and also the W7 logo while loading it, but after I just get a black screen.

    What do you think ?

Go into display properties or nvidia control panel and set up multiple monitors - clone mode. Then set the internal LCD as the primary display device.

Must be driver/software issue. Note the nvidia blinks faster while doing RAID POST than the Intel, so your nvidia should be fine. Anyways the internal LCD is only connected through one cable on the motherboard so it is very unlikely the tech forgot something.

According to my observations the NVIDIA card always comes on right after you get to the login screen. I always see screen flashing (as you'd normally see when switching the graphics) when the laptop is powered on to that point, even when I shut down the computer in speed mode then power it on again. Therefore it was probably the intel card that's displaying the VAIO and W7 logo and the NVIDIA card is definitely faulty.

    Thanks for help.

I hardly think it is a software issue as I've reinstalled my system, using official sony driver but it did nothing. It still goes into a black screen and it still work very well once I plug an external monitor

I do agree with you, I can the screen flashing too, I can sometime even see the desktop loading then, the GT 330M powers on and nothing...

Hmm the card isn't that faulty as it displays everything very well as long as I connect the laptop to an external monitor

I've tried Ubuntu 11.04, once using speed mode, the screen froze and then I heard to loading sound just like W7, but I haddn't installed it, just loading it but I think it normally recognize the card now thanks to the kernel 2.6.38

I've reflashed my bios to original, no difference.
I'm going to try an original untouched W7 edition to see if there's a difference.
I guess if it still doesn't work, I'm going to call sony for the third time for a repair... x___x
