It's not wrong the driver for intel.
It's just the Microsoft's one ..
I can't do it to be shown like we want .. -
It's not wrong the driver for intel. <-- I know, but this IS the driver you replace with the Basic Adapter. Click on it as mentioned above and install the Basic Adapter. (working from memory here)

Hey i cant change the intel driver that is already installed from windows , to Microsoft Basic Adapter.
That's what i am lloking in order to go through.
The link that you give doesn't say how to do it.
It just say to do it.
Edit
Ok man I did it ...
Thanx for the help ...
I can't change betwen stamina and speed.
I press it but nothing happens...
I have to restart on order to get it to work ... -
Did anyone manage to install Win 8 x64 on VGN-Z11xn?
I've tried andrew's, failure13 and MatthiasPyck's instructions with NVIDIA 263.08 - Intel 2020 drivers but I can't make the SPEED/STAMINA switch work properly (only a system restart changes the GPU).
I'd appreciate any advise - too much time killed on this. And I don't want to leave it like that. -
Try turning off fast restart in power options.
-
Not the same model, but successful with VGN-Z17GN. i.e. Wind 8 Pro x64 using Andrew08's drivers & flicker fix. Speed/stamina, s1/s2/eject, function keys, webcam all work. Haven't tested SD/memory stick or HDMI because I don't have any means to test them. I'm using R2171M3 BiOS (was on R2169M3 when on Vista x86) - you may wish to check the correct version of BIOS for your model on Win 7 (which should also work on Win 8).
A quick google search suggests you have a European model ( Sony : VGN-Z11XN/B updates | Download updates for VGN-Z11XN/B) but I don't see a BIOS update listed under Win 7.
Edit: These are required for the buttons, etc, so perhaps also affect/help with speed switch:
- programmable I/O controller
- firmware extension parser
- shared library
- event service -
Thanks for the info - the firmware extension parser was the only one missing in my installation. It works now.

Hi!
The megaupload links do not work anymore.
Any place I can download the latest hybrid drivers? I have a VPCZ13V9E btw.
Thanks -
Do you mean/did you try the drivers at Andrew's BASE/drivers post
-
Anyone following this thread recently will know I've moved an old VGN-Z21WN/B to W8, clean install on a new 830 Samsung 256GB SSD
Fast start is OFF. Everything works fine, LIVE switching from Speed to Stamina (yet to test HDMI)
Yesterday I installed Samsung Magician (latest version):
+ I enabled 20% overprovisioning
+ disabled pre-fetch of drivers - something like that
And I'm having some odd effects:
+Now when the machine goes into hibernation it reawakes after some time! 30 seconds or so.
+And also, coming back out of hibernaton is not always successful - as it was before. Crash. Cold start.
For now I've disabled Samsung Magician in start-up - waiting to see over time if the issues are unrelated.
Just wondering if anyone else had problems like this?
Something to do with drivers missing after wake up?
This problem may not be hybrid specific - I'm not sure. -
Thanks for the fast reply!
I wanted to download these drivers that are supposed to work with Z13 (european), but the links are broken:

Do you know if the one on the first post ( Netload Serious Filehosting - Netload) also work for Z13?
Tks -

Sadly Nautis, who started this thread, is not a regular visitor any more, so the links are not updated in the first post like they should. You'll have to go back through the posts page by page to find the latest working links. They are there - people have re-uploaded them several times - you just have to trawl through hundreds of posts to find them.

@jamescook2, is RapidWake and HybridSleep disabled? (RapidWake in VAIO CC, Hybrid sleep in Windows power management)
I had issues with hibernate with these enabled! (I forced it via shutdown /h, which for some reason ignored the fact that hibernate should not be allowed) -
For anyone who's interested I instaled Nvidia 26314 - Intel 2266 signed.rar, 173.77 MB downloaded from Netload Serious Filehosting - Netload on a VPCZ13V9E (european model) running Windows 7 64 bit and it worked like a charm. I have both speed and stamina working, hibernate, etc. So far haven't noticed any glitch.
Also solved the issue that first made me look for new drivers which was no support for Web GL (on google maps for example).
Btw, has anyone been able to connect any Vaio Z1 to an external monitor with a resolution of 2560x1440? The thing is that the graphics card (Nvidia GeForce 330m) supports this digital resolution, but there seems to be nowhere to force this output from HDMI. Has anyone actually been able to accomplish this?
thanks all -
Via hdmi 2560x1440 will not be possible at 60Hz. This requires dual link dvi or displayport.
Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF700T using Tapatalk HD -
For anyone looking for the current drivers - they are in Andrew's post - as mentioned above - at the bottom. You have to register/login.
-
@alfaunits
I'll check that - when I have the time and nervous energy!
I'm wondering really whether I/anyone need/s samsung magician at all.
The system works very well - amazingly well I have to say - without it. I read that 7% over provisioning is the default with these drives anyway.
And driver prefetch etc. is a Windows setting AFAICT.
The current way with my install according to failure13 and MatthiasPyck guides works - with fast start disabled.
I read in another thread that fast start works if you net start the Vaio Event Service - mind you that thread is about the VPCZ1. -
I see that the docking station for Z1 provides a DVI port. Do you know if it will work with 2560x1440? I would buy one if it works but I haven't been able to confirm this anywhere... Has anyone tried it? Or maybe someone who has a docking station could try it?
-
Sometimes it happens to me as well. I think it's caused by Windows 8, as I didn't have this issue before. It also seems that I can't disable the DVD.
-
I can confirm that this latest link works for downloading on my VAIO VPCZ1 Z1. Driver 263.14 Intel 266.
Netload Serious Filehosting - Netload

I have a Vaio VGN-Z92JS, and I successfully reformatted and installed Andrew's driver: Nvidia 26308 - Intel 2020 signed
However, I'm running into a problem. I can connect an external monitor via HDMI and display, but I can't do dual display anymore. Before I reformatted I was able to dual display, so this is pretty confusing.
When I open Nvidia control panel and try to click both monitors on at once, I get a message saying that this GPU can only use/output to one display.
Has anyone else had this problem?
FYI I reformatted with a Sony Win 7 DVD, then did windows update, then installed the video driver along with the following sony utilities:
---1) Sony corporation - Input - Sony Firmware Extension Parser Device
---2) Sony corporation - Other hardware - Sony Programmable I/O Control Device
4. Sony_Shared_Library
5. Setting_Utility_Series
6. VAIO_Event_Service
7. VAIO_Control_Center
8. VAIO_Power_Management
8b. VAIO Location Utility
9. VAIO_Smart_Network
10. Memory card reader writer driver
Thanks in advance for your advice. -
Can you try from the Windows display properties dialog? Sometimes that works better.
-
Thanks for the reply!
Actually I tried from the Windows display properties first, and it won't let me select multiple monitors there either, when I try to mirror it says "these settings can't be saved".
My machine IS the Japanese variant, maybe there is something different about my machine... -
No, I've heard other VGN guys moaning about this. Just wait a while longer and someone who has been through this issue will tell you what you need to know. I'm a VPCZ1 guy, so I'm not aware of the specifics.
-
It's nice to know that at least I'm not alone! For now I have other options so it's no big deal
Thanks!
-
Sorry to bump this, but just wondering if anyone has figured out a way around the dual display issues I mentioned in post #3824. Thanks!
-
I already wrote about this issue, but no any solution was recommended here. With old official sony-nvidia driver it is possible to use dual display mode, but with latest Andrew's driver Nvidia 26308 - Intel 2020 signed it doesn't work. Still hope for help!
-
Maybe you can try this 197.72 Driver Details | Dell US and then change the driver ids from the Dell 335M ones to Sony.
Not sure if there is anything newer that will work. -
How would I change the driver IDs?
-
What version of Windows and is it 32-bit or 64-bit?
-
How can I run this Dell driver with my old vaio vgn-Z21? My graphic card is hybrid intel/nvidia gforce 9300m gs.
-
First thing is that particular driver package will only work on Windows 7 64-bit.
Secondly, I will need to know the device IDs of your graphics cards. You can find these on the first page of the GPU-z application.
You open the NVCADM.INF file and change the device IDs under the following section:
[NVIDIA_SetA_Devices.NTamd64.6.1]
%NVIDIA_DEV.0CAF.01% = Section008, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0649
%iCNTG0.0% = iCNT0, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2a42
If you tell me the device IDs I can change them for you, but I think it should not be too hard to figure out. -
Yes my monitor run from a Z1 via a docking port and DVI at 2560 x 1440 (I run it 35Hz but havent tested higher). I dont think it is possible with the original drivers. I have a hacked bios and run pretty new Nviidia drivers. You need to right-click on the desktop, select Nvidia Control Panel and put 2560 x 1440 as a custom screen resolution.
-
Sorry for the delay, I'm running 64 bit Win 7. -
I will need to know the device IDs of your graphics cards. You can find these on the first page of the GPU-z application. There is one for the Intel card and one for the nVIDIA card.
You let the exe file extract and then in one of those folders you open the NVCADM.INF file and change the device IDs under the following section:
[NVIDIA_SetA_Devices.NTamd64.6.1]
%NVIDIA_DEV.0CAF.01% = Section008, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_ 0649
%iCNTG0.0% = iCNT0, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_ 2a42
(change the bold section and get rid of the stuff after the bold section)
If you tell me the device IDs I can change them for you, but I think it should not be too hard to figure out. -
If it's just a matter of changing ids in an INF file, that's not problem, I'll give it a shot and let you know.
Thanks again for the advice! -
FYI I got the new drivers in, they seem to be working very well! I'll do some more tests. THANK YOU so much for the help. Dual screen works!!

Hello
I am not very an expert when it comes to laptops but my VPCZ1 is not being able to handle simple games like CS:GO on low detail and resolution settings. (PC shuts down)
I would like to update to these hybrid graphics to see if that fixes the problem. Can ANYONE pleaaaaaase help me??
Thanks in advance! -
Laptop shutting down under load is most likely an overheating problem. Check the CPU and GPU temperatures. You may need to clean the fan and the air vents.
http://forum.notebookreview.com/sony/594314-vpc-z-change-thermal-paste.html -
I did that, problem keeps on happening. I dont know what may have happened.
CS:GO is unplayable. Actually, only game that runs smooth is CS.
Where can I get the most updated hybrid graphics?
Can someone walk me through? -
Okay, I've been using Andrew08's NVIDIA 263.08 - Intel 2020 hybrid driver on a Windows 8 64 bit installation on my VGN-Z540N for a few months, and just recently I fixed my usb issues. I followed failure13's installation setup (to not get the screen flicker), and the driver seems to be working okay. However, I am having an issue getting HDMI to function. There is no output on the TV, but the Vaio Control Center appears in the notification area
, clicking to give the HDMI resolution setting window
.
As you can see, all three options are grayed out. So yeah, HDMI isn't working for me. Is there any way I would be able to connect at all? My TV is a Sony BRAVIA KDL55HX800 55-Inch 1080p 240 Hz -
I installed on VGN-Z31ZN the latest vesion 263.08 / 2020. I get sound about HDMI now, but I can't get copy/extended screen now. Can the update to 263.14 / 2xxx help, maybe? They are ohter solutions for the problem with copy/extendet screen? Many thanks!
-
hmm...
Today I redo 26314 -2993 and it was working, I still yet to try all features...
will update when I have time. -
Andrew08: did you release the refreshed/repacked drivers for the VPCZ1 yet?
-
not yet, i am looking for new feature score to be included and trust(newer inf has it) but still unable to get cuda working sigh.
want to beta test the new driver, anytimer? -
Certainly, even though I'm quite happy with the one you posted earlier. Looking forward to it.
How are you testing for CUDA? -
best way is to use gpu z, see whether cuda is ticked?
edit:
found out that nvidia ended support for hybrid graphic driver after 286.19, so i won't be mentioning 29x driver anymore.
2993 not yet confirmed by now, under investigation.
