    Hello NBR readers

Couple weeks ago I posted seeking for help for my 2 and a half years old T150. I didn't know what the problem was so I sent it to Sony Repair. The salesmen told me I had to put 400 dollar deposit to check / fix the laptop because the laptop was not under warranty.

    2 Weeks After

I got a phone call couple days ago from Sony repair and they gave me the price to fix my T150. They told me my motherboard for my T series die and it would cost $2100 dollars Canadian to get it fix including labour and shipping. Errrrrrrr... Arghhh...

After this incident, I actually think the Sony Warranty is worth it. Now I have a dead T150 and I don't know what to do. I really want to fix it but I don't want to pay $2100 dollars. Does anyone know where I can order Sony laptop parts separately so I can bring it to a local computer shop and get it fix.

Anyways I just want to shared my experience with NBR members. :( :(

I'm also planning to buy another laptop to replace my T150. This time I want to get it from PortableOne but I am a bit confuse about their warranty. If anyone from the Sony forum purchase from P1 and utilize their warranty please let me know.

I am sick of Sony customer service and I want to get it from some good authorize dealer.

If they actually think someone is going to pay $2100 they are more arrogant than I thought possible. The high PS3 price was one thing, this is another entirely.

If you don't get much luck fixing it, definitely just purchase another computer.

Well, since your computer was not under warranty I understand the high cost. How do you figure Sony's service is bad? I assume they would have no problem fixing the motherboard free of charge if the product was still under warranty.

Well not base on just this experience.

Sometimes they are ok but most of the times they are really slow.

It took them 2 weeks to fix my DVD Drive, 2 weeks to fix tell me it cost $2100 to fix my laptop and the time they refuse to exchange for new laptop even tho there was 2 dead pixel.
