As the title says...I'm running on a Sony Vaio VGN-FS215B and the touchpad has stopped working. I tried going to control panel, VAIO Control Center, And Enabling the Built in pointing device option but nothing happened.

    Please help :(

And one more question...will the laptop still work if I upgrade to vista?

EDIT: Please look below for updated version.

    Hi Luke,

If you're doing a clean reinstall of XP (I'm assuming this since you've not provided any other info.) there's quite a few things to install on the clean machine before proceeding with your drivers.

I had a lot of issues myself and reinstalled my system at least twice now.

Check out Sony's tech website and a couple of the really good posts here especially those with "Clean install on XP/Vista" etc.

They point out the crucial stuff to do.

Ok so yes I reinstalled a fresh copy of windows.

And here are some troubles I'm having.

    No sound...
    And the touchpad isn't working...

I reinstalled the drivers again and that still didn't work.

I downloaded a fresh copy of the drivers and installed those, but I still got the same problem.

I have no idea why the sound isn't working...I'm pretty sure its all turned up and stuff.

And whenever I go to install the pointing driver, I get an error saying " could not open ddl"

    Please help!
