Just browsing through the forums....

I saw that HP/Compaq has their own Team members: NBR HP/Compaq Team

and that the Dell Subforum also has its own Team members: NBR Dell Team


I made my own logo...Anyone can use this crappily made one, there are no requirements, BUT I suggest those who are armed with more then just MS Paint on their computers make a better one and share

I still got Sony Vaio Team Member GraphX Designer position open to whoever can top my logo...and it shouldn't be hard either! Take a look at the HP and Dell ones!

 

Here's my (ameture) attempt at making a "NBR Vaio Team" logo:


I know it's probably not very stylish, and could be improved a lot, but it was fun trying to mix all the visual themes of the new Vaios (brushed aluminum, green glowing power light, new keyboard style, cylindrical design, etc.)

 

Someone get me a VAIO Font and I'll take a nice crack at it.
Yes, I've Googled, and No, I couldn't find it.

Ooh, I really like that logo! Do you think you could make it smaller - around the same size as the HP/Dell logos? A bit smaller and less unwieldy would look better on signatures.

 

I can do graphics no problem, I do it as a hobby and a 2nd job on the side

Glad to see some people like my logo . I'll probably remake it this evening so it looks a little better.

Yeah I have the same thing - I think the server gets overwhelmed during peak times? It kept saying Unable to load lol

 

I updated everyone's titles, and as well as added all the new style signature images.

I contacted JM (GraphX Service: Operation Manager) here on notebookreviewforum for him to create some professionally looking signature images for us soon, so stay tune

It is in your user profile. But I believe you have to have a certain number of posts or rep level before you can. I am not clear on the details of who can or can't do this.

well here are some 3 I made, with different styles or higher up models if you wanna call it that (you know more bells and whistles)







I can make them long if people want them longer, I wasn't sure if to add the green power light since not all the models have it on top, some have it on the side.

 

Personally I like your first one the best. I resized it and added it to my signature line. I can provide a link for anyone else to use it too.

I actually kind of like ascariss's first one, but I'm not sure. I think it needs to be slimmer for my tastes. Well, I'll try it out for a while and see how it looks

 

I can make it slimmer, its size is similar to the ones from the other teams, but I will make a slimmer one and post it shortly.

I still prefer the one from ac500. But primarily because the green logo pops a bit more than the balck and white gradient one in ascariss's version. I am not sure if it is supposed to represent a particular model. It sems like that was implied in the explanation.

Here's my second attempt:


Unfortunately it turned out a little fatter than I wanted, but I can probably fix that.

 

I agree, the vaio sign was too weak, so instead of white I went with green like AC.

I think some of these are too complicated and go against the design philosophies that Sony seems to have...

I can't use Photoshop for my life, but just saying, from an artistic standpoint...

 

Well put. That is what I liked most about AC500's original design. Nice and simple.

too complicated? I can remove the stamina switch and LED easily, otherwise its not more complicated than the spine on the notebook without the writing.

 

I think someone should make a design with a milky-white background and black text or black background with silver text...

 

But which notebook???? The spine of each model looks different. Personally I think the logo ought to be applicable to all the various models. The common thing about them all is the Vaio logo. Adding the switches makes it too model specific. Just my $.02

if you don't like the logo don't use it, that simple, the logo uses elements from all of the new units, BZ, Z, FW and SR, except they are all entangled into one.

here's another using Occam's razor principle, the NBR team font can change, ie more squished or smaller, still looking for a good one on dafont.

 

The above is my favourite so far. May i suggest perhaps that we have a poll.

These guys have took time out of their schedules to try to help the Vaio members display their status..

Pick the logo you like, and dont bash the one you dont.. to each their own, so just use one you like and be happy!

Someone may like the one you find "fat, odd, complicated" so let them enjoy their liking..nobody is forced to choose just one, try them all out if you want! one logo a week! or 2. lol Everyone can choose their own sig logo and change it to their liking from the MANY posted on the thread by wonderful people - thank you all!!

Whoa!!! Hold on a second, I didn't say I didn't like it. I was only offering my opinion that I thought the earlier one was less model specific and therefore applied to a broader base of new and old Vaio users.

This new one you posted is spot on to that idea. It includes the element that is common to us all, even covering all three of my Sony laptop models, my current FZ190, my old XG39 and my ancient Z505. I really like this one a lot! And it will be part of my signature line in a few moments.
