As all of you Vaio S series users, I also need to use the NHC to cool my notebook.

However, though I do not have an evidence to prove it, I have the sensation that it uses too much system resources.

Does anyone have an idea on this?

Interesting. I have an S560, and I remembered checking how much memory is used for the NHC from the taskbar. I don't remember the exact number, but it's pretty small to me. Besides, I think it's still worth it to use NHC albeit the whatever resource it used.

Update: I just checked my NHC from taskbar, it's using about 5-7MB memory. It's fluctuating, I think it went up to 11MB during fresh start up. I don't know what the cpu temperature without NHC is, but after gaming, it's still around 60C.

Use 10.1 beta 03. It uses only 5MB and is faster than other versions.

    Cheers,

Yup that's confirmed. 5MB isn't that much for the benefits that NHC brings.. can't really notice a general "slowing down" of the system when NHC is active either.
