I am new to this forum so hello everyone. Well, just as the title says, I want to install Nvidia's newest driver into my VAIO. I have successfully modded the inf for 197.16 driver and was able to to install it without the brightness issue. However, this is not the case for 266.58. I have tried to replicate what I've done for the 197.16 inf to the new one but the brightness issue still persists. Even with the EnableBrightnessControl set to 2, I cannot control the brightness even from Windows Power Options. I have uploaded my modded inf for both and is imploring to anyone out there to help me rectify the problem. Thanks.

Some driver versions break the brightness control (windows mobility center/ power options). My FZ's 8400M GT works fine the 266.58 modded inf.

Sony has a newer 259.42 nvidia driver that all supports all their notebook GPU's in their FTP site. But that driver broke my brightness control. You can still use the settings for your GPU from the latest Sony supplied inf.

Thank You for replying coolguy. I have tried my modded inf a few times again, yet none successful with the brightness controls so far. As for the Sony 259.42 driver, I have no sign of it anywhere in their website. I have rechecked my modded inf so far and have seen no missing settings based on sony's inf. Should you find something wrong, please mind helping me. Thank You.
