So originally my VAIO (Model VGN-NW240F) had OEM W7U on it, and all the vaio accessories. But after the Hard Drive failed (Thank you Sony), and I got a new one (Thank you Sony) I clean installed retail W7U which was slightly different and obviously did not include the junk from Sony. I now wish to disable the touchpad because every time I tap it on accident while playing a FPS game, it scares the crap out of me (haha). I looked on the Drivers and Software page a little bit ago and could not find what section the VAIO control center software thing was under, I downloaded what I thought was the support file from their website but it just made my computer crash so or should I say F-Disk my life. Anyway I was wondering if there is an alternative touchpad disabling method for VAIOs and/or what section of the Drivers/Software page is the VAIO control utility under.

    Thanks!
    Ryan

You can install Synaptics TouchPad driver and go to control panel for adjusting Mouse settings. There will be Device Settings tab for Synaptics and you can disable it from there.
