Recently I bought the NW series Vaio, the VGN-NW265F to be exact. I hooked up the laptop to my TV via HDMI cable in order to watch a blu-ray movie and I can notice right away that the quality of the image is what is in question here. I know that PS3 and the blu ray movies playing in Blockbuster you can notice the difference in quality right away, however with my new laptop connected to my TV it just seems like high definition rather than the blu ray crispness I see on other blu ray players. I am new to laptops so not sure if its the best it can get or if I am missing something here. Any insight is appreciated, thanks.

The key here is making sure the laptop is connecting to the TV at the native resolution of the TV. On our Sharp 1080p HDTV we make sure the video card is set to 1920x1080 and the TV is set to Dot to Dot so that it is properly in sync with the laptop's 1080p capable GPU.

    Cheers,
