When I got this laptop I used to play games like NFS carbon. I did a BIOS update and my system board was replaced because of that by Sony. After the replacement I noticed that the fan noise increased and it starts the moment I push the power on button and decreases when I log to windows. I used temperature monitor programs and the GPU temp was always above 55c and If I do some GPU testing or start a game it will go more than 115 C and computer turns off. I solved this temporary by reducing playing with power settings and put ATI to low performance or power saving. The thing is when I play the same games on Ubuntu ( Steam using wine) everything seems to be working just fine. But if I do it on Windows Vista or 7 it crashes. Does this seem like a software or hardware issue?

P.S I remember when I installed Ubuntu the fan was always noisy so I looked for a solution for that where I had to use some commands and it worked but I don't know if this affected the GPU.
