    Hi All,
I've been a proud owner of a Vaio Z2 with 256G SSD. Yesterday it really died. As in I simply cannot power it on at all. No response to battery (which was full). I'm guessing some kind of electrical issue got it. The lights do not come on either when it is plugged in. Needless to say I'm in deep junk as I don't have the most recent backup done (I know, I know).
So I've been trying to find different adapters that will read this disk. I thought I found the right thing here:
ZTC Sky Enclouser 1.8" SATA LIF to USB. Model ZTC-EN003 @ Amazon
But I cannot get the cable to plug into the SSD. Crap this is soooo frustrating. I called Sony and they said to take it to Best Buy as they do all repairs now. I need that data ASAP though. Is there anyway I can get it?
    Thanks for any help.

sony-proprietary ZIF connector, you're not likely to find a compatible connector on the net, you'd need to mod your own zif cable (don't try it, too complicated and fragile)
Also, I wouldn't be surprised if the drive were not detectable unless inside a sony machine anyway.
You need to get it to the sony-authorized people and have them backup your data. And you better make sure you make it very clear you need the data saved, I wouldn't be surprised if best buy service just mistakenly wiped your drives while they 'repair' your machine.

Thanks for your input. That is what I feared. I have purchased another Z2 used from amazon that I'm going to swap the drives out and try to recover the data that way. I don't have time for BB to ship the laptop to wherever, but I do think it worth it to repair once I transfer the data to another system.
