    Hello,

the hard drive of my old Z1 (VPC Z1 2C5E) just crashed.
( at boot, black screen with "Operating System not found" message ).

i removed the Toshiba HDD, and try it on another computer : nothing happened.
i bought a new hard drive ( the same as original ), but i don't have any recovery DVD or files ! :(

i search a ISO of the recovery partition of my Z1... ( i don't have DVD drive...so i need use only a USB external key )

if someone could help me...can be so nice

    regards,
    thanks in advance,
    Stef

Recovery DVD can't be used across model even same series.
You may hope someone having Z1 as the same model yours and they still have recovery partition to create one for you.

    LOL SONY FRANCE :

they said to me the pre-installed Windows 7 is ONLY compatible with the original Toshiba HD !!!
so they ask me to send the laptop to the SONY repair center... and get lot of money of course...
