Has anyone experienced certain keys being 'sunked' down or 'stuck up?'

My delete key is stuck up and insert key is sunked down. Thus whenever I close the lid, delete key is pressed. This must be some sort of design/ hardware flaw

    So I have 2 questions:

My unit is only a month old- is this reasonable to ask for a replacement as I do not want to go through a week or a month of waiting without a laptop?

My unit was purchased on Ebay and shipped to Canada (from US). The seller claims he has misplaced his receipt. I've contacted Sony Tech Support in Canada, and the rep asked me some basic info (Address, Name, email) and registered me for warranty. Without the receipt, is it possible to receive service under warranty?
