Ok here is the scenario. I re-installed Windows to put XP Pro on there. I completely cleaned the system out and made two partitions 1 for windows and 1 for data of course. Well anyway my problem is that I'm having a hard time with two drivers I'm missing.

1 is obviously the sound driver because I can't hear anything and the other is the modem drivers. For some reason it always says failed to install.

I got the latest drivers from :

    http://esupport.sony.com/perl/model-swu.pl?mdl=VGNS460

When I installed the chipset drivers it asked me to look for this file which I didn't have!

    USBEHCI.SYS

and the other file that's missing is I think my modem since I never installed it. So it shows up as just a fat yellow question mark and the title is :

    PCI Device

    Please help. Thanks in advance!

    Geezzz....I just want sound!! =(

Did you get a driver disc from Sony? If you are connected to the internet, Windows Update can sometimes fix things.

Yeah I did that. Well it's ok now though I finally got it. Whew...that took about 6 hours and a whole night of frustration.

Are you guys like me?? You know one of those people that can't sleep till your computer is fixed otherwise you can't stop thinking about it? Well that pretty much sums up my frustration everytime I'm trying to get a computer to work properly.

At least I finally got it fixed. Thanks for all your replies! :sony:
