Hi, I have a SZ series notebook with 2Gb Ram and Core 2 Duo 2hz. I always encounter lagginees when i play games such as Warcraft 3 , swat 4. The lagginess is nt only game play, the mouse cursor even lag when moving around in the opening menu. However i face no such problems when playing games like football manager2007. The problem only exist in speed mode and everything return to normal in stamina mode where the integrated graphics card is used. Help very much appreciated, Cheers. :)

I used to run BF2 on my sz without any problems. Do you reboot when switching to speed mode? Maybe it's a driver issue. Warcraft 3 isn't very demanding. I suggest re-installing nVidias driver and try again.

    hey dude,
like "Bobdare", i also think the problem is within the nvidia drivers. when i installed the drivers on my sz (after a clean install), at first they didn't work good also (when watching HD content you could feel/see the problem).

unfortunately, it took me something like 2 weeks until i found an appropriate driver. i can't remember the exact driver i used, as i am not on my SZ right now. when i will go back home i will post it..
but, i download it not from sony's site, but from http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/

check the site out.. you can use a variety of drivers from there.. i will post the one i used..

thanks a lot Boim, you're right, the nvidia driver on sony support site has a problem. I re-installed it and it's still not working right. http://www.laptopvideo2go.com seems useful, but i couldn't find the right driver yet.

first insall the sony driver (NVDVID-A1040609-US.EXE)
then update the 7400 driver for the one in the 8491 (choose the sz one)

Thanks A lot Boim, gonna up your rep =). I found aother driver 8469 to be not bad, solve my problem to an extent. gonna try your recommendation though, 8469 is for geforce 7900, so not officially supported. Thanks again Boim and bobdare.
