    Hello from snowy CT, USA.

My nephew's Sony Vaio - model PCG-81311L has had a HDD crash. The 750 GB drive is toast.

I have learned from the lad's dad, my brother, that THEY DO NOT HAVE ANY RESTORE CDS for this Vaio.

Now, while I want to beat him senseless, this will help me little!

When configuring their new computer/laptop for the very first time, why do users answer "No thanks" to the prompt, "Do you want to create RESTORE CDs now?". I mean, if not NOW, WHEN. Do they REALLY think they'll do it later?

Anyways, I digress. My plea is as follows. Does anyone have this model, and would they be willing to CREATE restore CDs/DVDs and ship them to me for a nominal fee?

The laptop is very nice, and outfitted for gaming so it's not ready for the dumpster. I have no problem picking up a replacement 750GB Toshiba HDD2J51drive ... but having to try to get that thing going without ANY factory-installed software could be a time consuming proposal.

I welcome any support on this one and thanks in advance. -Ed
