I saw that thread, but the links are all dead. Sony took down that page for some reason. I really, really need the audio driver. I can live with not having the rest.

I have the same model. What is the current status of "upgrading" to Windows XP? What do I lose if I install XP, webcam still won't work? How about firewire, audio, etc? I'm ready to move to XP once the Vista becomes unbrearably slow or unstable. It's getting closer.
