Hello all, recently, i have a mate selling previous VAIO SZ which is SZ3 series (non-premium) cost around 700USD, do you think it wise to get the used notebook? or should i just get the new notebook?

theres also used VAIO SZ7 series too selling, but im avoiding this series since its use the nvidia 8series gpu card which said to be affected.

hope to hear some point of view from you guys

    regards,
    Miyabi

Well no SZs failed so far.

And it is quite possible that any NVidia card is affected.

Now going back to your laptop question:
It depends on usage - if you are going to use it for extensive office work, it'll run perfectly on just the Chipset.
Thus you don't need the NVidia card.

Else - I'd say its a question of specs and price.

    One more thing:
The SZ7 is newer, thus it probably hasn't been bashed about as much as the SZ3

Or you go for the newer SR/Z series... but they'll cost more...
