I just got a laptop off my friend and decided to format the c drive using the vaio recovery center. I finished the process and got to the vista login screen for the first time. When i get here it cays login to initialize but I can't login to the admin account because its disabled and i have no user name and password but it asks for one. How do i login to vista after the formating? i have a sony vaio cr125e.

A typical Vaio recovery should put the machine back to it's original "out of the box" state. As such, no user id or password would be set yet.

So the question becomes, what exactly have you done thus far? What did you do when you "decided to format the c drive using the vaio recovery center"???

I ran into this problem before. It is a glitch in the recovery system and it doesnt run the normal vista "out of box experience" (oobe). You should be able to login on with no password but if not, reboot, press F10, and run the recovery again via the F10.

This problem seems to be more prevalent when activating recovery from the Vaio Recovery Center in Vista.
