I have purchased a VAIO VGN-FZ140E for a low $400 (no hard drive or operating system) off ebay a couple months ago. I'm currently running Vista Home Premium, the same operating system that comes by default on this FZ series.

After trying to install the majority of drivers off from Sony's model page; however, a couple of theme give me the famouse " ...may not have installed correctly" message.

How can I get the "AV MODE" button and the "S" (whatever that s button does) to work?

See my signature line below for a link to doing a clean install of Vista on an FZ series machine. It covers the S button and the AV mode as it is for an Nvidia display. (The instant on mode is NOT available for Nvidia equipped FZ machines, the AV button on those machines starts up Vista and lets you choose an AV app to run from a menu.)

You will need to buy a restore DVD set from Sony to complete a clean install as there are some axillary apps required that are NOT available for download from Sony.
