I have a sony vgn-sz11np. I bought a new battery for my computer from ebay.
    Battery For Sony VGP-BPS2 VGP-BPS2B VGP-BPS2A VGP-BPS2C - eBay (item 280415816346 end time Jun-24-10 13:22:39 PDT)

    The battery is vgp-bps2.

Does anyone know if this battery is compatible with my laptop?

When I first inserted in my computer, I got a caution from the computer saying:
"The installed battery may not be properly connected to the computer or may not be compatible with the battery. Press ok to enter hibernation, then re-install the battery"
    Then the computer hibernated.

I took the battery out of the computer and re-inserted a few times but would get the same problem.

Is there anything I can do to fix this problem or is the problem with the battery?

Sounds like a generic/3rd party battery. If you are ok with that run msconfig and disable isbmgr.exe. That error message will go away.

    Thanks it worked.

Is it safe to use this kind of battery, I mean does it harm the computer or is it fine?
